The Harford County high school swimming season opened Monday night, with teams from C. Milton Wright and Havre de Grace the big winners.
CMW defeated Bel Air, 136-51, in the overall scoring at Magnolia Middle School. The Mustang boys were winners, 67-27, and the CMW girls won, 69-24.
At Edgewood Middle School, Havre de Grace won the overall scoring over Patterson Mill, 95-93, and Aberdeen, 119-66. Patterson Mill also beat Aberdeen, 130-58.
In the boys scoring, Havre de Grace beat Patterson Mill, 50-44, and Aberdeen, 65-26. Patterson Mill beat Aberdeen, 76-18.
In the girls scoring, Patterson Mill beat Havre de Grace, 49-45, and Aberdeen, 54-40. Havre de Grace also beat Aberdeen, 54-40.
Relay sweep
In their win, C. Milton Wright swept the relays, three each for the boys and girls.
Individually, Colin Hildebeidel (500 free, 100 breast) and Ryan Baldino (200 IM, 100 butterfly) were double winners for the Mustangs. Other Mustang winners were Matthew Treusdell (100 back), Griffith Scarborough (200 free) and Nate Ehrhardt (100 free).
Julia O'Mara was the lone double winner for the Mustang girls, taking first in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke events. Lauren O'Mara, her sister, won the 200 IM.
Other CMW winners were Emily Abshire (100 back); Anne Capozolli (100 butterfly); Erika Slotnick (100 free) and Lindsey Jackson (200 free). Jackson was also second in the 100 butterfly.
Xavier Kane highlighted the Bel Air boys, winning the 50 free race, while Bel Air girls had two winners, Rebecca Entner (500 free) and Olivia McPhee (100 back).
Link, Lyons lead Warriors
Stephen Link and Allissa Lyons were both individual double winners to lead Havre de Grace's win.
Link won the 200 free and 100 breaststroke races, while Lyons was fastest in the girls 500 free and 100 back events.
Ryan Burkhardt gave the Warriors the long distance sweep, winning the boys 500 free, while Robert Bringardner won the 100 back and Alexander Caron won the 50 free.
The Warriors also swept the boys three relays.
Patterson Mill also had a pair of double winners. Luke Holloway led the boys with wins in the 200 IM and 100 free races, while Annie Tompkins led the girls with wins in the 50 and
100 free events.
Freshman Chad Shane was victorious for the Huskies as well, winning the 100 butterfly.
The Huskies also won two of the three girls relay races.
Aberdeen had an double winner as Sienna Guiou won the 200 free and 100 breaststroke races, while teammate Kaeli MacDonald was best in the 100 butterfly.
Aberdeen also won the girls 400 free relay.
