Bel Air women open summer lacrosse play for 25th year

The Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League began its 25th season Tuesday night at Rockfield Park's Ewing Street Field.

Three games, one Junior Division and two Senior Division, filled out the night. There are still openings in the league. Junior Division is for middle school players and Senior Division is for high school and above. If interested, visit www.belairwomenslacrosse.assn.la to register or email belairwomenslax@comcast.net.

In the Junior game, Olivia Harmel scored seven goals and Alexa Tokofsky added five to lead Red over Blue, 13-7. Kayla Russell added one goal for Red.

Maya Feick paced Blue with four goals, while Arielle Kauffman scored two and Skylar Truszkowski scored one. Sawyer Graham played a half for each team in goal and finished with 14 saves.

In the night's first Senior game, the Purple People Eaters beat the Red Devils, 13-5. Sara Chesla led six Purple scorers with four goals and an assist. Ida Ehrhardt added three goals and an assist, with Stacy Stearns and Lacey Leschefsky scoring two goals each. Chelsea Ford and Jennifer James had single goals and Eva Ehrhardt had one assist.

Kim Eraso led Red with two goals, while single goals were scored by Samantha Donateli, Melissa Crapanzano and Pat Strother. Ashley Alberts had an assist. Hannah Murphy (nine saves) and Allie Storke (one) split time in the Purple goal, while Abby McClure had eight saves for Red.

In game two of Senior play, the Green Beatles beat the Blue Bombers, 11-6. Sarah Hefner and Roxanne Raab had three goals and assist each to pace Green. Sarah Koch and Kaitlyn Larrimore tallied two goals apiece and Lauren Bull had one goal.

Kelley Duncan and Penelope Fantis led Blue with two goals each. Robyn Goodman and Katie Spence (two assists) had a goal apiece.

Shelby Morris (three saves) and Mariya Occorso (four saves) shared goal duties for Green, while Grace Deckert made four saves for Blue.
