Fallston is fourth on state greens led by Wolf who places 20th

The Fallston golf team locked up a fourth place team finish Wednesday at the Maryland State Golf Tournament contested at the University of Maryland-College Park Golf Course.

Fallston's foursome shaved seven strokes off their Tuesday score with a 350 to post a two-day total of 707. Marriotts Ridge easily won the Class 1A-2A team title with 633.

Senior Dylan Wolf shot 79 on Wednesday, following his 80 on Tuesday. The 159 total tied him for 20th. Everett Cox shot 81, four shots better than Tuesday's 85, placing him 41st.

Fallston shot a team score of 357, which was good enough for fourth place and advancement to Wednesday's final round. The Cougars edged Smithsburg (358) for the spot. Marriotts Ridge Tuesday's team scoring with 324.

Dayton Ogrysko shot 95 both days and placed 64th and Josh Sacker shot 95 Wednesday to place 65th. Sacker shot 97 in Tuesday's first round.

Aberdeen senior Mitchell Hardin shot 82 for the second straight round and tied for 36th, while Patterson Mill's Michael Montgomery shot 88 in the final round to tie for 50th. Montgomery shot 82 on Tuesday.

In the girls standings, Elkton's Genesis Diaz placed 10th, shooting 82 in the final round after posting 84 in Tuesday's first round.
