The Fallston Cougars (2-3 league, 3-7 overall) used a one-hitter from pitcher Allyson Evans Monday to shut out visiting Edgewood, 7-0, in UCBAC Susquehanna Division play. The Rams are 3-3, 3-4.

Elise Calahan and Izzy Newkirk led the Fallston offense with five hits between them.

Bobcats beat Hawks

Bel Air (1-1, 5-1) earned its first Chesapeake Division win Monday, knocking off host North Harford (2-3, 5-4), 4-2.

Alexis Lyttle and Kelly Harkins supplied North Harford's scoring, each ripping a home run.

Bel Air stats were not provided.

Other Monday scores

In Chesapeake play, Havre de Grace (0-5, 3-5) stayed winless in the division with a 6-4 loss at Rising Sun. In Susquehanna play, Aberdeen (3-4, 3-5) won at Elkton, 6-1, while Patterson Mill (4-1, 4-2) needed an extra inning to beat visiting Harford Tech (4-1, 4-3), 8-7.

Stats were not provided for either game.

Cougars split a pair

Fallston played in the Franklin Tournament on Saturday, winning one and losing the other.

The Cougars won the opener as Allyson Evans pitched a four-hitter, allowing two runs, as the Cougars beat Franklin, 5-2.

Fallston was led by Autumn Walinski and Maggie Deckelman with two hits each..

In the championship, the Cougars were down just 6-3 in the sixth when Williamsport exploded for eight runs to put the game away, beating the Cougars, 15-4.

Elise Calahan led Fallston with three hits, including her second home run of the year.

Hawks blank Warriors

The North Harford Hawks softball team made quick work of visiting Havre de Grace on Friday, blanking the Warriors, 10-0, in five innings of an UCBAC Chesapeake Division game. The contest was played at North Harford because of poor field conditions at Havre de Grace.

Alexis Lyttle led the Hawks offense, hitting a triple and double, while Kelly Harkins also hit a triple.

Olivia DuBois and Hailey Emerson had singles for Havre de Grace.

Freshman pitcher Leah DuBois made her first start of the season for the Warriors and lasted one inning, walking four allowing four hits and six runs.

Friday postponements

Four softball games were postponed, three by weather. The Elkton at Harford Tech game was postponed because of the funeral for long-time Tech coach and teacher Gary Siler. The game is rescheduled for April 23 at 4 p.m.

The Patterson Mill at Edgewood game is set for April 21 at 3:30 p.m., while no date has been set for Bo Manor at Bel Air and Fallston at Joppatowne.

Gibson tosses no-no

Bel Air pitcher Rayn Gibson struck out 16 and didn't allow a hit as the Bobcats shut out host Fallston, 10-0, Thursday in non-division play. The Cougars slipped to 1-6. Gibson was three walks away from a perfect game.

Gwen Markowski led the Bobcats offense, going 2-for-4 with an RBIsingle and two-run home run.

Morgan Dvorak also hit a two-run homer and Brianna Maccubbin ripped a solo shot.

The Bobcats had 10 hits.

Warriors beat Eagles

Havre de Grace was a an easy winner Thursday, beating host Harford Christian, 24-1, in five innings.

The Warriors had 16 hits led by Kateri Peters and Kaysha Davis with three each. Peters scored three runs and knocked in four and Davis scored three times.

Annelise Beer had two triples and five RBIs and scored two runs, while Olivia DuBois had two hits and two stolen bases and scored four runs.

Samara White also had two hits and two runs scored, while Kennan Glassman, Leah DuBois, Hailey Emerson and Sara Crawford each had a hit and two runs scored. Lucy Brooks also scored two runs.

Krista Jamison pitched all five innings for the win, striking out five. She walked three and allowed three hits.

Rams beat Mariners

Edgewood was also a winner Thursday, beating visiting Joppatowne (0-4, 0-4), 12-1 in five innings in Susquehanna Division play. Rams sophomore pitcher Amanda Sullivan allowed just two base runners.

Other score

Also Thursday, Aberdeen lost to visiting North East, 6-3, in Susquehanna action. Stats were not provided.
