C. Milton Wright freshman Lauren Meyers belted a first inning, three-run home run to highlight a three-hit, five RBI performance in leading the Mustangs over visiting North Harford, 10-0, Monday in six innings of a Class 3A North, Section II semifinal.

Harford Tech also posted a win Monday, while Havre de Grace, Patterson Mill, Fallston and Bel Air all suffered season-ending losses.

In the Mustangs win, Meyers also singled and scored in the third and then singled again in the Mustangs (16-5) four-run sixth inning, driving in two more runs. A third run scored on the play, but by error in the Hawks outfield.

"I was just thinking like, two runners on, got to get a hit, got to get a hit and if I saw that first pitch strike, I was going to take a hack at it...I did," Meyers said of her home run swing. "I just want to put the ball in play, hit it hard."

Meyers, the CMW first baseman, was also part of an 1-3-2 double play that snuffed out a possible Hawks rally in the second inning. Ada Heinze reached on an error and moved to third on another CMW miscue. With one out, Jessica Carnivale bunted. Pitcher Morghan Fulton threw Carnivale out at first and Meyers fired home to catcher Danielle DeAgostino to nail Heinze.

Katie Murphy also had three hits for CMW, including two doubles, while Lexi Childress (doubles) and Emily Kim had two hits each.

Fulton collected the win, scattering three hits and striking out a batter. Hunter Harbaugh pitched into the fifth for the Hawks (11-6) in taking the loss.

Sarah Collins, Jocee Sevilla and Krista Hiser had North Harford's hits.
