A night after winning in ninth, IronBirds fall in ninth Tuesday

A night after the Aberdeen IronBirds walked off to beat the Vermont Lake Monsters, the Staten Island Yankees flipped the script against the 'Birds, beating them, 1-0, in walk-off fashion in New York.

Staten Island's Timmy Robinson hit a ground-rule double with one out in the bottom of the ninth and later scored when Kendall Coleman reached base on an error, allowing Robinson to score.

Aberdeen (27-35) had two decent chances at scoring, despite having just three hits. In the fifth, Alejandro Juvier doubled with one out. Juvier took third on an wild pitch with still one out, but Jaylen Ferguson struck out and Jerry McClanahan popped out to second.

In the eighth, Juvier led off with a single. Ferguson's sacrifice bunt moved Juvier to second and with McClanahan batting, Juvier stole third base. McClanahan flew out and Kirvin Moesquit was out an bunt attempt to kill the threat.

Preston Palmeiro had the other Aberdeen hit, but he was picked off first base a short time later. Travis Seabrooke pitched extremely well over seven innings. He scattered five hits, walked one and struck out five.

Ryan Moseley (0-1) took the loss, giving up three hits, a walk and the earned run over an inning and a third.

Aberdeen will play at Staten Island again Wednesday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
