Havre de Grace Youth Football has been chosen to host the Upper Chesapeake Youth Football League championship games on Saturday, Nov. 12, at James R. Harris Stadium on Juniata Street.
League officials said in a release that "this is a huge league wide event and we are hoping to make this a reoccurring thing. This is the first time we've hosted this event and we are super excited that we have two teams playing to advance to the state finals."
Havre de Grace Youth Football has two teams playing Saturday, but only one at Harris Stadium. The 12U Havre de Grace Maroon plays Towson White at 6 p.m.
Tom Meehan, who is also president of Havre de Grace Youth Football, is the coach of the 12U team that also won a state championship in 2014, according to the release from the league.
The other Havre de Grace team playing Saturday to advance to the state finals is a 10U team playing at CCBC.
Lance Waller is the head coach of that team.
