Harford Gymnastics' level 6 to 10 teams brought home 15 individual first-place medals in addition to three first-place team awards from the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Jan. 23 to 25. Sending 27 athletes to the annual travel meet, Harford topped the competition at level 6, 7, and 9, while placing second at level 8.
Leading the way for the level 6 team was Brooke Emerson of Bel Air. Emerson won the all-around in the youngest age group (36.475) and uneven bars (9.25). She also placed second on both vault (8.825) and floor (9.35), while placing fourth on beam (9.05). Teammate Savannah Tamberino of Phoenix won balance beam (9.325) and floor exercise (9.375) in the same age group. Tamberino placed second on bars (9.0) and all-around (35.825). Lilly Lutz of Havre de Grace finished second on vault (8.825), third on beam (9.175) and fourth on both floor (9.175) and all-around (35.275).
Victoria Kays of Bel Air had Harford's top score for level 6 in the "B" age group. Kays went 35.90 for third place and placed second on vault (8.85), beam (9.275) and floor (9.475). Katie Weaver of Kingsville won vault (9.15), placed second on bars (8.95) and sixth all-around (35.525). Madison Weitzel of Fallston finished fourth on vault (8.675), fifth on bars (8.65), third on beam (9.075), fifth on floor (9.20) and fifth all-around (35.60) in the same age group.
Tira Mercadante of Nottingham led the way in the "C" level 6 age group, placing third all-around (35.55). Mercadante also won beam (9.025), finished second on bars (9.05) and placed fifth on floor (9.10). Teammate Anna Salerno of Bel Air placed third on vault (8.85), fourth on beam (8.875) and sixth all-around (34.575). Megan Peyton of Joppa represented Harford in the "D" level 6 age group, finishing fifth on vault (8.55) and seventh all-around (33.45).
In the level 7 competition, Raegan Hare of Bel Air earned Harford's top all-around score of 37.225, winning the "C" age group. Hare also won floor (9.50), placed second on both vault (9.20) and beam (9.275) and finished third on bars (9.25). In the same age group, Morgan Motsay of Fallston won vault (9.40) and placed fifth on beam (9.025), fourth on floor (9.25) and third all-around (36.225). Lauren Winn of Bel Air won beam (9.375) and finished ninth in the all-around (34.50), while Megan Despres of Abingdon placed seventh on vault (8.90), seventh on beam (8.775), third on floor (9.30) and sixth all-around (35.60) in the "C" age group.
Riley Conroy of Bel Air swept the level 7 competition in the "A" age group, winning all-around (37.025), vault (9.275), bars (9.30) and beam (9.275) and placing fourth on floor (9.175). Also in the "A" age group, Emme Brossoit of Forest Hill placed second on bars (9.05) and floor (9.25), fourth on beam (9.075) and third all-around (35.875).
In the level 7 "B" age group, Darian Hauf of Jarrettsville represented Harford with a second-place finish on bars (9.15), third on beam (9.05) and sixth all-around (35.90). In the "D" age group, Grace Cross of Bel Air placed fifth on beam (8.725), seventh on floor (8.85) and eighth all-around (34.25). Additionally, Ashley Fannon of Forest Hill finished seventh on beam (8.35), seventh on floor (8.85) and ninth all-around (33.85).
At level 8, Daria Gregory of Fallston posted Harford's top all-around of 35.70, placing fourth in the "A" age group. Gregory also took second on bars (9.175) and fifth on vault (8.70) and floor (9.15). In the same age group, Natasha Slutzky of Bel Air finished fifth on beam (8.725) and floor (9.15), while taking seventh all-around (34.725). In the "C" age group, Grace Damico of Abingdon placed sixth on vault (8.50) and beam (8.10), while finishing eighth all-around (33.05).Meghan Manno of Bel Air dominated the "D" age group at level 8, winning all-around (35.025), vault (8.725) and floor (9.05). Manno also placed second on bars (8.775) and beam (8.50).
A new club record was set during the level 9 competition, with Amya Hill of Joppa winning bars with a 9.35. Hill also won vault (9.05), placed fifth on floor (8.80) and third all-around (34.60) in the "A" age group. Hailey Tebo of Havre de Grace took second on bars (8.70), fourth on floor (8.85) and second all-around (34.70), while Caitlyn Allen of Forest Hill finished fourth on bars (8.10), third on beam (8.925) and sixth all-around (33.725) in the "A" age group.
Graduating senior Lindsay Rush of Joppa earned Harford's top all-around at level 9 (35.25), placing third in the "B" age group. Rush also took second on vault (9.025), third on bars (8.60) and fourth on beam (8.75). Jordyn Oster of Perry Hall represented Harford in the level 10 competition, placing second on bars (8.80) and beam (9.225).
Harford Gymnastics will host the Harford Trophy Meet, its annual home event, March 6 to 8 at Harford Community College for levels 2-10.
