With its dominating, 21-4, win over host Perryville Wednesday night, the Fallston girls lacrosse team is back in the state semifinals after a year absence. The win gave the Cougars (11-6) the Class 1A-2A North region championship.
The Cougars will battle Sparrows Point in state semifinal action Friday or Saturday at Northeast-Anne Arundel High School.
Fallston jumped ahead 3-0 in the first 3:09 and it only got worse for the Panthers. The Cougars led at the half, 16-2, and 19-2 eight minutes into the second half.
Fallston scoring was paced by Anna Dennison's six goals. Kelly Emge added four goals, while Emily Solak and Emily Stambaugh added three goals each. Katie Donhauser and Zoe Hurlburt netted two goals and Kayla Wolff scored one.
Hurlburt and Izzy Dallam dished out three assists each and Wolff had two. Solak, Donhauser and Sam DeCarlo also had assists.
Sydnie Bjork scored two of the Panthers goals, while Taylor Poore and Bea Muscella had single goals. Ally Remesch and Claire Hudson added assists.
Erika Wright made four saves before giving way to Lexi Roberts, who added three saves. For Perryville, Abby Jones had two saves in the Panthers goal in the first half and Cali Tyson made three saves in the second half.
