Girls basketball teams move into regional playoffs

The region playoffs are now on the clock for county public school girls basketball teams. Region playoff brackets were drawn Tuesday and games begin today (Friday).

Patterson Mill (16-5), winners of 14 straight, will open Class 1A East play against visiting Perryville (1-14). Game time is 6 p.m.

Joppatowne (9-11) will play in 1A East and will host Colonel Richardson today at 4 p.m.

Havre de Grace (7-12) will also play in 1A East, but the Warriors will play Saturday at Bo Manor (10-6). Game time is 2 p.m.

In 2A East, Fallston (10-12) will host North East (3-12) at 5 p.m., while Harford Tech (4-12) will travel to Elkton (7-8), also at 5 p.m.

Aberdeen (19-1) will play in 3A North and the Eagles drew a first-round bye. The Eagles will host the Patapsco-Kenwood winner on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Also, Edgewood (2-17) will play at C. Milton Wright (8-7) at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Tuesday is the next round for girls playoff winners. Losers are done for the season.
