It was week and half ago that the 2019 Maryland 14 and under Swimming Championships wrapped up at St. Mary's College.
12-year old Alex Dillon, a resident of Fallston and a sixth grade student at Fallston Middle School, had a spectacular showing as a competing member of the Bel Air Athletic Club swim team, coached by Peter Leib.
Dillon won three state titles and placed top three in two other events.
Dillon’s win came in the 11-12, 50-yard freestyle (24.29); the 11-12, 100-yard freestyle (53.08); and the 11-12, 50-yard butterfly (25.92).
Dillon also added a second place finish in the 11-12, 100-yard butterfly (59.70) and he was third in the 11-12, 100-yard backstroke (1:03.24).
To make it more special, Dillon is in his first year swimming competitively.
