Bel Air beats C. Milton Wright in OT for key boys soccer win

The Bel Air Bobcats and C. Milton Wright Mustangs waged a solid boys soccer battle Monday night, with each trying to keep UCBAC Chesapeake Division title hopes alive.

The teams played through two regulation halves and needed an overtime period before the host Bobcats scored to claim a 1-0 win.

Ryan Albright scored the winning goal for the Bobcats (3-1, 6-4-1), assisted by Conner Lorenz.

The Mustangs slipped to 4-1 league and 7-3-1 overall.

Cougars beat Hawks

Fallston (5-0, 10-1) stayed atop the Chesapeake standings Monday with an 7-0 win over visiting North Harford (1-3, 2-7-2).

Senior Caynnan Taylor led the Cougars with a hat trick, while fellow senior Corey Madigan scored two on the Cougars' senior night.

Reese Ripken also scored twice for the Cougars.

Eagles drop Tigers

Aberdeen (1-3, 7-5) picked up its first Chesapeake win on the road Monday, beating host Rising Sun, 3-0.

Ange Michel Wangu scored two goals for the Eagles, who led 2-0 at the half. Alex Wardle added the other Aberdeen goal.

Juan Soriano and Wangu had assists. Aberdeen goalie Mark Cerasoli finished with three saves.

Rising Sun keeper Cole Leonard made seven saves.

Mariners beat Warriors

In Susquehanna Division play Monday, Joppatowne (1-4, 4-4-1) edged host Havre de Grace (1-4, 1-9), 3-2.

In another Susquehanna game played Monday, Edgewood (5-0, 6-3) stayed on top of the standings with an 4-2 win at Bo Manor.

Eagles blank Warriors

Aberdeen beat visiting Havre de Grace, 6-0, Friday night in non-division play.

Alex Wardle and George Steimly scored two goals apiece to lead the Eagles. Mark Cerasoli and Caleb Wagner added single goals.

Assists for Aberdeen were credited to Juan Soriano (2), Dawit Tefaye, Ange Michel Wangu, Andrew Rehedul and Cerasoli.

In goal for Aberdeen, Cerasoli made one save and Carlos Alvarez had three. Havre de Grace keeper Aaron Toepfer finished with 16 saves.

Aberdeen led the game 2-0 at half.

Other Friday scores

In Susquehanna play, Edgewood knocked off visiting Perryville, 4-1. In Chesapeake play, North Harford and visiting Patterson Mill (0-2-1, 3-6-1) played to a 0-0 tie.

Huskies goalie Ryan Jeon had eight saves.
