Bel Air opens UCBAC division boys soccer play with shutout

The Bel Air Bobcats opened UCBAC boys soccer division play Monday with a 7-0 win over visiting Rising Sun.

The Bobcats led the Chesapeake Division game, 4-0, at the half.

Grayson Harper got the scoring started early with an unassisted goal in the game's second minute. Ryan Albright added a goal four minutes later, with Harper providing an assist.

The Bobcats added two goals late in the half, just three minutes apart. Josh Munley scored unassisted and Josh Holcomb scored with Harper adding another assist.

Vincent Rose opened the second half scoring, with assist from Ethan Lassen. Emre Sipos added a goal, assisted by Brandon Keller and Colin Tolson closed out the scoring with a goal assisted by Lassen.

Bobcats goalie Cameron Riley finished with four saves, while Rising Sun keeper Christopher Orr made 12 saves.

Cobras, Mariners tie

Harford Tech and visiting Joppatowne battled to a 1-1 tie in non-division play Monday.

Tim Krouse scored Tech's goal.

Huskies fall on road

Patterson Mill traveled to Perry Hall for out-of-league play and lost, 2-0.

Huskies keeper Ryan Jeon made eight saves.

Hawks lose, too

North Harford also played a non-league game Monday, losing 1-0 to visiting Hereford.

Cobras won tourney

The Harford Tech boys soccer team hosted and won its Cobra Tournament Saturday at Cobra Stadium.

The Cobras opened the event with a 2-0 win over Perryville. Senior captain Adam Garrison scored the first goal of the game with assist from sophomore Fitz Brock. Minutes later, Garrison returned the favor and assisted on a goal by Brock. Will Weaver posted the shutout in goal with help from a stingy and determined defense.

In the championship game, Tech defeated a well-skilled Rising Sun team, 2-1. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Tech found the back of the net twice in the second half to claim the championship. Both Cobra goals were scored unassisted by junior captain Matt Doleschal and sophomore Justin Scott.

In other games, Rising Sun opened with a 3-1 win over Edgewood and Edgewood beat Perryville in the consolation game, 3-1.

John Carroll gets win

John Carroll shut out visiting Loyola, 2-0, Friday.

Patriots goals were scored by Ryan Waugh, on a penalty kick, and Hayden Gaeng, with assist from Franco Caltabiano.

Huskies win shutout

Patterson Mill beat host Poly, 2-0, Thursday.

Senior Dean Gonzalez scored both goals for the Huskies, with Ryan Greezicki and Cameron Neumann recording assists.

Huskies goalie Ryan Jeon had four saves in the win.
