Patterson Mill boys make history with lacrosse victory over Fallston

Patterson Mill pulled off a big win Wednesday night. Several others were also in the win column as well.

There was history made at Patterson Mill High School on Wednesday night where the Huskies hosted and beat Fallston in a boys lacrosse game.

Patterson Mill (2-0, 4-3) edged the Cougars (1-1, 4-2), 6-5, in an UCBAC Chesapeake Division game. It was the first win for Patterson Mill over Fallston in the school's history.


"First win for our program in school history over Fallston," Huskies coach Jason Bellamy said.

The Huskies built up a 4-0 halftime lead, but the advantage faded quickly in the second half as penalties forced the Huskies into man-down situations.


Fallston took advantage and tied the score at 5-5, before Blake Tallon scored the game-winner with less than three minutes remaining.

"Connor Madsen and Kevin Dyke played exceptional games for us at the midfield on both ends of the field," Bellamy said. "Great defensive effort out of Evan Ehly, Jake Lowery, Chris Blackwell and goalie Justin Strawderman.

Madsen led the Cougars with three goals and Tallon finished with two. Chance Urban added a single goal.

Dyke had two assists, while Madsen and Urban added one each.

Corey Reed and Colton Presley scored two goal apiece for the Cougars, while Jared Yarworth added a single goal.

Patterson Mill goalie Strawderman made five saves and Fallston keeper Scott Olin finished with nine saves.

Mustangs edge Bobcats

C. Milton Wright (1-0, 3-3) also posted a big win Wednesday, knocking off visiting Bel Air (1-1, 2-4), 9-6, in Chesapeake play.


Zach Heiderman (two assists) and Stephen Kelley (assist) led the Mustangs scoring with three goals each. Ryan Messer added a pair of goals and Christian Trombley (assist) netted a single goal.

Ryan Chan (assist) also scored three goals to pace the Bel Air scoring. Single goals were scored by Brandon Javier, Josh Munley and Nick Jenkens.

Jared Haas and Dean Dugan had assists for the Bobcats.

CMW goalie Kyle Hilbourn had seven saves and Bel Air keeper Luke Auer made six saves.

CMW led the game at half, 4-3.

Eagles beat Elks


Aberdeen improved to 2-0 in UCBAC Susquehanna Division play Wednesday, beating host Elkton, 11-4. The win evened the Eagles overall record at 3-3.

Chris Morgan and Connor Davis led the Eagles with three goals apiece. Sean Michael Lynn added a pair of goals and Eagles adding single goals were Frank Eufemia, Cade Bergeron and Chris Madera.

Eufemia also had five assists and Bergeron had one.

Aberdeen goalie Carlos Alvarez made seven saves.

Cobras beat Indians

Harford Tech (2-0, 2-3) defeated visiting North East (2-2, 2-3), 13-8, Wednesday in Susquehanna play.


Andrew Erhardt and Bennett Cianelli scored four goals each to lead the scoring. They also had an assist each.

Kyle Cicone aded three goals and two assists, while Caleb Richardson and Anthony Portera added a goal apiece.

Tech keeper Brady Sasdelli made 13 saves.

Mariners beat Eagles

Joppatowne (1-1, 1-4) got its first win, beating host Bo Manor (0-2, 0-3), 7-6, Wednesday in Susquehanna play.

Julian Young and Adam Boehnlein scored three goals each for the Mariners.

Hawks win in OT

North Harford (1-1, 3-5) needed a little extra time Wednesday to beat host Rising Sun (0-2, 0-4). The Hawks won the Chesapeake game in OT, 8-7.

Connor Diem led the scoring with five goals, while Hawks with singe goals were David Sexton, Brayden Shue and Austin Borns.

Owen Chaney added two assists and others with assists were Diem, Richie Tabeling, Zach Saneman and Austin Young.

Andrew Preston made eight saves in goal for the Hawks.
