Havre de Grace, Fallston collect boys lacrosse wins Wednesday

The Havre de Grace boys lacrosse team went back on the field Wednesday night and visiting Bo Manor felt the wrath in a 17-3 Warriors win in non-division action at James R. Harris Stadium.

The Warriors (5-1) wasted little time getting ahead. Colin Dean scored the first of his four goals just 47 seconds into the opening quarter with an assist from Kyle Barkley.

Bo Manor countered a few minutes later, taking advantage of a Havre de Grace turnover. Justin Dulaney's unassisted goal tied the game, but Havre de Grace scored the next eight – five in the second quarter – to lead 9-1 at the half.

Among them was Dean's third goal, which came when Casey Brown found him on the doorstep with a 20-yard pass. Dean slid the ball past the Eagles keeper for a 6-1 lead.

The Warriors closed out the half with three goals in the final 1:14. Dean's final goal, assisted by Brown and Barkley, started the run, while Nick Burley added his first of four goals with the assist from Dean.

Trent Reynolds ended the first half scoring with 9 seconds left. Dean had one of his five assists on that goal.

The Warriors, who had a decided, 17-6 advantage in face-offs, possessed the ball and scored the first five goals in the third quarter. The 12-plus goal lead initiated the running clock. Burley's second goal came on a rebound, while Luke Smith assisted Jordan Hawthorne's first of two goals.

Brown, who finished with two goals and four assists, scored his final goal after stealing a pass from 20 yards out and taking it back in toward the goal and scoring unassisted.

Burley added his final goal in the third quarter and Reynolds scored his final two goals to close the quarter.

Bo Manor's final two goals were also scored in the third quarter. Carmen Fuentes scored both, unassisted.

The Warriors closed out the game's scoring with a pair of unassisted goals. Barkley (two goals, one assist) fired a rocket from 20 yards away and Hawthorne was a bit closer to end the scoring.

Chris Parrott led in face-off wins with 10. Brett Wilson, Dean and Salvatore Smith led with four ground balls each and Wilson added three takeaways.

Havre de Grace goalie Jacob Laubner did not record a save, while Bo Manor keeper Maximillion Longarle had a busy night with 11 saves.

Cougars beat Curley

Fallston (4-1) hosted Archbishop Curley in non-league play Wednesday and won, 18-8.

The Cougars led 6-2 at half.

Dylan Wolf had a huge night with five goals and five assists, while Nick Esser added four goals and one assist. Ben Claffee and Andrew Stump netted three goals each and single goals were scored by Justin Williams, Garrett Krug and Matt Wollenweber.

Kyle McKeever had three assists and Krug had two. Williams and Stump had one assist each.

Jalen Lomax scored three goals to lead Curley, while Rodney Petit and Anthony Scarpola scored two each. Ryan Bell had one goal.

Curley assists went to Patrick Pfarr (two), Scarpola and James Cox.

Fallston goalie Liam Wilcox made 14 saves. Matt Claffee came on to make one save and Curley goalie David Degreenia finished with five saves.

Other Wednesday scores

In two other games Wednesday, C. Milton Wright (5-1) beat visiting Rising Sun, 10-3, in non-division play and Bel Air (2-2) lost at Cape Henlopen, Del., 9-8, in non-league play. Stats were not provided for either game.

Hawks beat Cobras

North Harford (5-2) beat visiting Harford Tech (3-2), 13-4, Tuesday night in a non-division contest.

Jacob Linkous poured in four goals and Glen Doering scored three to pace the Hawks scoring. Clayton Hood added two goals, while single goals were scored by Evan Siegel, Mic Green, Thomas Dolinar and TJ O'Donnell.

Green added a pair of assists, while Siegel, Doering and Linkous had an assist each.

Siegel led with six ground balls and won seven of 10 face-offs. Stephen Goedeke was four for eight in face-offs.

Hawks goalie Cameron Brosh made seven saves before giving way to David Horoschak, who made two.

Tech goalie Chris Stallings had a busy night with 22 saves. Adam Smith also played in goal, contributing nine saves.

The Cobras were led offensively by Griffin Pfarr's three goals. Brett Grube added one goal and Nick Letts had an assist.
