North Harford boys open lacrosse season with win at Aberdeen

The North Harford Hawks boys varsity lacrosse team grabbed a win in its firstt time on the field Monday, knocking off host Aberdeen, 8-3, in an non-division game previously postponed Thursday.

Connor Diem led the Hawks scoring with four goals and three assists and Richie Tabeling added two goals.

Owen Chaney and Zach Saneman (assist) added a goal apiece. Colin McCue also had an assist.

Sean Michael Lynn scored twice for Aberdeen and Michael Denu added a goal. Frank Eufemia had two assists for Aberdeen.

Cade Bergeron and Jordan Jenkins led with three groud balls each.

In goal for the Hawks, Andrew Preston made seven saves and Garrett Thomas came on to make three saves. Aberdeen goalie Carlos Alvarez had seven saves.

Cougars fall in OT

Fallston saw its season opener slip away in overtime, losing to visiting Dulaney, 11-10.

Colton Presley scored four goals to pace the Cougars scoring, while Cal Wilcox and Jared Yarworth scored two goals each. Cory Reed and Andrew Taylor added single goals.

Reed added two assists with Evan Blum and Matt White adding assist each.

Fallston goalie Scott Olin finished with 11 saves. Jack Maranto went 17-for-25 on face offs. “Him and Scott Olin were why we were in the game, too many unforced turnovers at critical times,” Cougars coach Matt Parks said.

Mustangs edged, too

C. Milton Wright slipped to 0-2 with an 9-8 loss at Arundel on Monday.

Steven Kelley led the scoring with three goals and two assists. Zach Heiderman added two goals and four asissts.

Greg Komondor, Jack Moody and Nick Atkinson each scored one goal. JD Guilbault and Moody also had an assist each.

Mustangs goalie Kyle Hilbourn made six saves. The game was knotted at 5 at the half.

Rams lose

Edgewood (1-1) lost 11-2 at Perryville (1-1) Monday night in UCBAC Susquehanna Division play.

Edgewood goals were scored by sophomores Payton O'Mara and Theo Cook with sophomore Tyreak Carey adding an assist.
