Region titles up for grabs for four Harford boys lacrosse teams after Monday victories

Boys lacrosse teams from Fallston, Harford Tech, C. Milton Wright and Bel Air are alive for regional titles after winning section final games Monday.

Fallston's win came over visiting Loch Raven, 20-2, in Class 1A-2A North, Section I play and, coupled with Tech's win, means Harford County will have at least one regional champion.

Dylan Wolf scored five goals to lead the Cougars (12-4) and Jake Lippa scored four. Matt Wollenweber netted three goals and Corey Reed scored a pair. Single goals were scored by Ben Claffee, Sam Gold, Justin Williams, Michael Delvechio, Andrew Stump and Jack Dennis.

Claffee, Gold and Jake Hornbeck had two assists each, and single assists were credited to Wollenweber, Stump, Jeff Otenesek and Dennis.

Kyle Hurley scored both Loch Raven goals.

In the Fallston goal, Scott Olin and Matt Petraglia both saw action and both made a save apiece. Loch Raven also played two goalies, with Colin Brown making 12 saves and Emric Beudry making one.

The Cougars led 12-0 at half.

Tech beats Panthers

Harford Tech (10-2) won the 1A-2A North, Section II final over visiting Perryville, 15-3. The Cobras will host Fallston at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the region title.

Steven Mills, Nick Letts and Brett Grube scored three goals each to pace the Cobras. Griffin Pfarr added two goals.

Ray Woods scored two goals and Nick Roberts one for Perryville.

Letts and Grube added two assists each for the Cobras and Evan Dibastiani had one. Roberts had two assists for the Panthers.

Chris Stallings (four saves) and Logan Wisineiwski (two saves) played in goal for Tech. Matt Mannone (four saves) and Vinny Gugliotta (two saves) were in goal for the Panthers.

Bobcats beat Dulaney

Bel Air (11-4) knocked off visiting Dulaney, 12-8, in the 3A-4A South, Section I final. The Bobcats trailed 6-5 at half.

Dylan Bielatowicz scored four goals to pace the Bobcats and Justin Calabrese added three goals. Luigi Ascenzi netted two and single goals were tallied by Keegan McHugh, Finn Gottschalk and Devin Adams.

Gottschalk added four assists, while McHugh and Evan Hulse had two each. Calabrese and Kasey Davenport also had assists.

Chris Hagy had 14 saves in goal. The Bobcats will battle Franklin Wednesday for the region title. Time and site have not been determined.

Mustangs beat Tigers

C. Milton Wright (12-5) turned back host Rising Sun, 14-6, in 2A-3A North, Section II play. The Mustangs led 11-1 at the half.

Ryan Messer's three goals led the Mustangs and Grady DiPeso scored twice. Single goals were scored by Nick Kramer, Zach Heiderman, Stephen Kelley, Kenny Watts, Dominic Venanzi, Keith Poyer, Nick Atkinson, Ned Cassily and Josh Patterson.

Heiderman dished out five assists and Kelley had two. Poyer also had an assist.

Three Mustangs played in goal. Josh Weaver and Luke Logan made two saves each and Wyatt Graham had one save.

CMW will battle Hereford for the region crown on Wednesday at a place and time to be determined.

Early round results

Brett Grube's only goal with 2:43 left in the second overtime lifted Harford Tech over visiting Havre de Grace ((8-8), 10-9, Friday in 1A-2A North, Section II play.

Steven Mills lead the Cobras with five goals, while Griffin Pfarr added three goals and Nick Letts had one. Letts also had an assist.

Colin Dean led the Warriors with four goals and two assists. Kyle Barkley added three goals and one assist and Kyle Cameron had two goals. Trent Reynolds dished out three assists

Sonny Smith led with six ground balls and Luke Smith won 13 face-offs.

Tech goalie Chris Stallings was solid in goal for Tech with 16 saves.

Cougars beat Pointers

Fallston rolled over host Sparrows Point on Friday, 22-6, in 1A-2A North, Section I play.

Ben Claffee scored four goals and added two assists and Matt Wollenweber also scored four goals. Colton Presley netted three goals, while Dylan Wolf and Andy Stump rounded out the multiple goal scorers with two apiece.

The Cougars played four goalies. Liam Wilcox (two saves); Scott Olin (one save); Matt Petraglia (two saves); and Harrison Gold (three saves).

Mustangs beat Hawks

CMW eliminated visiting North Harford (8-8), 10-6, Friday in 2A-3A North, Section II play.

Ryan Messer led the Mustangs scoring with three goals and Zach Heiderman had two. Single goals were scored by Nick Kramer, Stephen Kelley, Keith Poyer, Steven Cantor and Jake Hofmann.

Connor Diem and Manny Mastromanolis scored two goals each for the Hawks and single goals were scored by Sean Feiss and JT Kidd.

Heiderman and Poyer led with two assists each.

In the CMW goal, Josh Weaver made seven saves and Luke Logan had one. Andrew Preston had five saves for the Hawks, who led 3-2 at half.

Bobcats blank Kenwood

Bel Air was an easy winner in 3A-4A South, Section I play Friday, thumping Kenwood, 20-0.

The Bobcats led 11-0 at halftime.

Finn Gottschalk's four goals led the way, while Dylan Bielatowicz, Chase Oberlin, Luigi Ascenzi and John Santimays had two goals each. Kasey Davenport, Josh Carlon, Jacob Vasquez, Evan Hulse, Tom Waible, Matt Creaghan, Nick Jenkens and Tyler Legge had single goals.

Oberlin, Gottschalk and Justin Calabrese each had three assists.

The Bobcats played four goalies, but just Chris Hagy (four) and Kenny Meyer (five) made saves.
