The Fallston Cougars boys basketball team improved to 2-0 Friday night, hosting and beating Havre de Grace (1-1), 53-42.
“An ugly game, but a good win against a good team,” Cougars coach Brian Hulka said. “I'm proud of the way we scrapped and never let up on the defensive end, even when things weren't pretty on the offensive end.”
Ethan Sommer led the winners with 22 points and 10 boards. Ryan Cassedy added 14 points and Mason Mullaney finished with six points, four rebounds and four steals. Collin Hoerr also scored six points.
Huskies beat Eagles
Patterson Mill is also 2-0 after winning at Bo Manor, 74-49. The Huskies led at the half, 39-25.
The Clowney brothers had the hot hand in this one for the Huskies, Rashawn led the scoring with 17 points and Rashawd added 16.
Max Elliott also reached double figures, scoring 10, while Nick Cress added nine and Dale Harris had eight.
Cobras get win
Harford Tech (1-1) evened its record and earned it first win, beating visiting Manchester Valley, 69-67. Tech led at the half, 39-34.
Anthony Ifeacho led the Cobras with 19 points and four rebounds. Jordan Bright added the double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and Laday Cooper added nine points and five steals.
Owls beat Rams
Edgewood (0-2) is winless after two starts, losing toi visiting Dundalk, 71-46.
The Rams were down at half, 36-21.
Leaders for Edgewood were Tiare Waldon, nine points, six steals, seven assists; and
Monzell Ware, 10 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Joppatowne (3-0) is the first team to three wins after its 66-42 win at Concordia Prep.
North Harford (1-1), meanwhile, lost its first game, losing to visiting Hereford, 56-38.
