Harford County's top two boys basketball teams were both taken to the limit Tuesday night in a pair of UCBAC Chesapeake Division games.
Division leading C. Milton Wright (7-0, 14-1) squeaked by host Patterson Mill, 55-53, while Joppatowne (6-1, 12-3) slid by host Edgewood, 67-65.
In CMW's narrow victory, Mychal Stefanides scored 14 points to lead the Mustangs. Corey Bays added 11 points and Dante Brown netted nine. Brown also grabbed seven rebounds.
Rahmon Felder and Brad Burris led the Huskies (3-5, 6-9) with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Patterson Mill led 26-23 at the half.
In Joppatowne's win, Jermaine Head Jr. poured in 26 points to lead the Mariners. Jeffery Harmon added 14 points and Rashaad Gore had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Edgewood senior Immanuel Gladden-Stokes led the Rams (3-5, 8-6) with 19 points and eight rebounds. Tyrone McKisset added 12 points and Raekwon Harrison chipped in with 10 points.
Joppatowne led 36-30 at halftime.
Warriors beat Elks
Havre de Grace (7-2, 13-3) kept Perryville in its sights in Susquehanna play, beating host Elkton, 81-61.
Krs Yancey led the winners with 22 points and four assists. Jordan Hawthorne added 16 points and eight assists and Zayrron Blake contributed 12 points and 19 rebounds.
Other scores
In Chesapeake play, Aberdeen (5-4, 9-8) beat host Fallston (0-9, 2-14), 68-47. In Susquehanna action, Harford Tech (7-2, 11-6) defeated visiting North East, 75-51;and North Harford (4-6, 6-10) lost to visiting Bo Manor, 52-50.
