The Fallston Cougars girls basketball team came away with a rare win Thursday, going on the road and winning at Aberdeen.The Cougars (4-1, 8-4) won the UCBAC Chesapeake Division game over the Eagles (2-2, 5-4), 53-49.
The C. Milton Wright wrestling team had little trouble in a tri-meet hosted by the Mustangs on Wednesday.The Mustangs cruised past both Edgewood, 54-27, and Havre de Grace, 67-11. Edgewood also beat Havre de Grace, 57-18.
Monday night’s non-division basketball game at Joppatowne was not a disappointment for those who showed up to see it.The Mariners were seeing their first action of 2020, while the Bobcats of Bel Air were looking to make it two straight wins in the new year.The Mariners (5-2) led by 10 (27-17) at the half, but the Bobcats (3-4) made a run that came up a point short. Joppatowne won the game, 48-47.

The Huskies battled to the end, but fell in straight sets, 3-0. Scores were 25-13, 25-19, 29-27.
The high school football season for Harford County gridders came to an abrupt end Friday night in three games on the road.Joppatowne (5-6) fell at Perryville (7-4), 33-20, in a Class 1A East second round game, while Fallston (5-6), also playing in 1A East, lost at Cambridge-South Dorchester (9-2), 48-14. Harford Tech (9-2) was beaten in 2A East second round action. The Cobras lost at North Caroline (11-0), 42-21.

The Patterson Mill girls volleyball team made quick work of Colonel Richardson Monday night in a Class 1A state semifinal match at the University of Maryland’s Ritchie Coliseum.The Huskies (12-5) swept the Colonels (10-9), 3-0, winning by scores of 25-8, 25-14, 25-17. The win puts the Huskies in Saturday’s 1A state championship match, where they will face Smithsburg or Western Tech. Match time is 5 p.m.
