The Aberdeen IronBirds split the final two games of its series with the Rome Braves, winning Saturday, but losing Sunday in High-A East play at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.

For a second straight night the Aberdeen IronBirds suffered a one-run loss to the Rome Braves. The 3-2 loss drops the ‘Birds to 24-20.

When the North Harford High School baseball team lost its final game of the 2021 season just over a week ago, it wasn’t just a season-ending loss. It was the end of a career for head coach Tim Larrimore, who has written lineups, given signals and anything else baseball related for 31 years.

When the Tokyo Games finally commence in late July, Chase Kalisz will swim the 400 IM, which he won last Sunday at U.S. Olympic Trials, and the 200 IM, in which he qualified second on Friday night. He will project as a medal contender in both races.

CMW (13-1) knocked off previously unbeaten and host Urbana (11-1), 12-7, in a Class 3A state semifinal, while Fallston (13-1) was a 11-4 winner over visiting Southern-Anne Arundel (5-5) in a 1A state semifinal.
