The summer is growing older, and activities are beginning to pick up in and around Aberdeen.
The 449ers of Aberdeen High School will have a reunion meeting at the Aberdeen Room Museum on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 1 p.m. Serving on the committee are Virginia Jacobs, June Gamble, Pat Keen and Ed Illick. You may call Ed at 410-272-2165.

Don't forget the big World Series Parade on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10:30 a.m. It will be about an hour long. so it will be a great way to start off the weekend! The usual parade route will be used along West Bel Air Avenue.
The Aberdeen Senior Center begins its August activities today, Friday, Aug. 2. From 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. there will be the Men's Discussion group.
On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the diabetes support group will meet. It is staffed by nurses who give tips on diet and other useful health issues.
On Thursday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. until noon, the blood pressure group will meet.

On Friday, Aug. 16, the veteran's discussion group will meet from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m.

On Thursday, August 22, something exciting will be added when Diana Romano will lead Farm Fresh Cooking to the agenda. What a great time of year for cooking when our local vegetables are so available!
On Monday, Aug. 26, fall registration begins. Does that tell us something? The new season is fast approaching, and we must get ready for it.
Ruth Elliott is often seen around the Aberdeen Senior Center, where she is vice-president of the Golden Agers, we understand, and we heard that she and Bob have been married 57 years! They celebrated with family and friends at the Bayou Restaurant on Saturday, July 20. Congratulations! True Aberdonians!
