"Back in September, a group of high spirited folks departed Havre de Grace for Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands, barely escaping the sequester and the three feet of snow. Our weather had been fantastic! We went all over the place, but the highlight was the visit to the Crazy Horse Memorial which will someday become the world's largest memorial. Mount Rushmore, although much smaller, was also breath-taking. Both of these historical centers were poignant as well as gorgeous, but we had differences in opinions about which memorial was more awe-inspiring. No blood was shed in this disagreement. As a bonus, our hotel was situated in such a way that we could walk outside and see Rushmore all lit up in the distance. In Custer State Park, the gargantuan bison were the stars of the show. All of us now know that the bison is not a buffalo. The last stop was fun: the Studebaker Museum. Every one of us had a relative who had owned a Studebaker. In my case, my daddy had two."
