Rumba Club headlines opening night of Havre de Grace Art Show this weekend

The 50th annual Havre de Grace Art Show, presented by Soroptimist International of Havre de Grace, celebrates 50 years of art this weekend in Tydings Memorial Park.

The show hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The show highlights artists and crafters exhibiting and selling original work. Visitors will find fine arts and handmade crafts including drawing, painting in oils, watercolors or acrylics, fibers, floral, glass, jewelry, handmade soap, metal work, photography, pottery, ceramics, sculpture and woodworking.

There is food and entertainment arranged with the whole family in mind, and there is no admission charge.

On opening night, the only night wine and beer will be available, the show will feature a special celebration featuring the Latin jazz of Rumba Club.

The following is a schedule of entertainment:

• Friday: Liz Lawson, face-painting near children's tent, 5 to 8:30 p.m.; Rumba Club, jazz with a Latin beat, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

• Saturday: Shepherd's Grass, Bluegrass Gospel, 10 to 11:30 a.m.; Devra Giles, mini belly dance demonstration and lesson, noon to 12:30 p.m.; Muddy River Blues Band, 2 to 4 p.m.; Uncle Pete's music show, noon to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.; Liz Lawson, face-painting, 12:30 to p.m.

• Sunday: Paul Howshall, popular music, 10 a.m. to noon; The Ryan-Kilcoyne School of Irish Dancing, 1 to 1:30 p.m.; Just Johnnie, pop, jazz, top 40 and classic rock, 2 to 4 p.m.; Uncle Pete's music show, noon to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.; Liz Lawson, face-painting, 12:30 to p.m.
