Harford County was still 10th in the state in the ranking of the health of its residents by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Harford's tobacco use was 18 percent and obesity was 28 percent, continuing to be as high as the state average.

Walmart's planned relocation of its Abingdon store to a controversial location on Plumtree Road may take longer than expected. Harford County's traffic analysis could take months, or years, to complete. The Walmart traffic analysis included Route 24, Route 924, Tollgate Road and Plumtree Road.

Harford County teachers converged on the County Council chambers to urge county officials to fund the public school system's full budget request. The rally proceeded down Main Street and gathered around the council building where the rally was staged on the sidewalk outside of the Council Chambers.

The Maryland State Department of Education granted Harford County schools a waiver for five days, making June 12 the last day of school. Harford County Public School students missed 11 days during the 2013-14 year because of a harsh winter.
The Harford County Airport in Aldino was granted a special exception to expand the facility. The plans were to build a 3,200 foot long runway and make other improvements to the 60-year-old location.
The Winters Run Golf Club on Tollgate Road in Bel Air was looking to sell a 10-acre portion of its land which was under contract to a builder to construct five houses. The parcel includes the historic Joesting-Gorsuch House and the red barn on North Tollgate Road.
