Patterson Mill, CMW, Tech cruise to dual-meet wrestling wins

Patterson Mill's Joe King keeps the pressure on Perryville's Aengus Vervier in the 195-pound class of Wednesday night's meet at Patterson Mill.

The Patterson Mill wrestling squad took a home gym victory Wednesday, dispatching visiting Perryville, 55-21, in a dual meet.

Starting at the 160-pound contest, the host-team Huskies took two victories right away via forfeit.

The Panthers picked up a win in the 182-pound matchup, with Dustin Krahn pinning Patterson Mill's Andrew Wilkinson at the 3:45 mark.

Patterson Mill's first proper win of the evening came at 195 pounds, where Joe King took the contest via pin fall over Perryville's Aengus Vevier at 1:43.

In the 220-pound bout, the Huskies' Eric Eckstein pinned opponent Greg Meekins at the 1:07 mark.

The heavyweight 285-pound match saw Patterson Mill's Brian Whitby take an 8-1 decision over Ryan Figueroa.

The Panthers' Ryan Berger won the 106-pound match by pin fall over Michael Defazio in 5:27.

After a Perryville forfeit in the 113-pound contest, the Huskies got a pin fall victory from 120-pound Brent Iwanowski, who pinned Jarrett Bowman in just 32 seconds.

Perryville's Chris Brown was able to carry the 126-pound bout, pinning Connor Allmon in 2:54.

Jake Nikkila won the 132-pound contest for the hosts, taking a 10-1 major decision over T.C. Foster.

Following another Perryville forfeit, this one at 138 pounds, the Huskies got their final victory of the night from Lawrence Swartz, who pinned Seth Sharpe in 4:33.

In the last match of the evening, Perryville's 152-pound man Zach Zacerous took a 7-3 decision over the Huskies' Juan Bustamante.

CMW over Elkton

The C. Milton Wright Mustangs took a dual-meet win over Elkton Wednesday, knocking off the visiting Golden Elks, 56-24.

CMW's Ed Tomaskovic won the 106-pound match by pin, while Mike Ritz followed with an 11-3, major-decision victory in the 126-pound bout.

After two Elkton forfeits at 132 and 138 pounds, the Mustangs saw Spencer Hellman take the 145-pound matchup by technical fall, 17-1.

CMW's Doug Thier took the 195-pound bout via 16-1 technical fall, while 220-pound Mason Herzing and 285-pound Alan Dorsey won their respective matches by pin fall.

Tech tops Edgewood

Harford Tech scored a 46-28 victory over visiting Edgewood Wednesday.

After starting the contest with a Harford Tech forfeit at 132 pounds, the host-team Cobras got things started in the 138-pound bout, which Andrey Kalwa won via 16-5 major decision over Edgewood's Jairr Jones.

The 145-pound match saw Harford Tech's Tyler Butler come away with a pin fall victory at 1:03 against Andres Rivera.

Edgewood began a string of three straight victories in the 152-pound bout, with Patrick Murphy winning by pin at 5:02 against Sam Cook. Shawn Kluchinsky followed with an 11-3 major-decision win over Andrew Butler in the 160-pound contest and Andrew Hout wrapped up the run with a 1:45 pin of Ryan Smetana at 170 pounds.

Harford Tech's Austin Bulger brought the hosts back into the fold with a 5:44 pin fall over Vernelle Gray in the 182-pound bout.

Edgewood's David Coates won the 195-pound contest, pinning Eric Cornelius at the 1:04 mark.

Harford Tech won win the remaining six matches, starting at 220 pounds, as Thomas Getachew pinned Adonis McCoy in 4:35.

HdG hammered

The Havre de Grace Warriors lost, 54-12, on Wednesday night in their dual-meet matchup with host North East.

The Warriors' lone victory of the evening came in the 195-pound bout, where Patrick Brinsfield won by pin fall over North East's Ron Truslow.

Havre de Grace's other points were earned in the 138-pound bout, which North East forfeited.
