Three wrestling teams from Harford County were in region championship dual meet action Wednesday and all three fell short in title quests.
Bel Air competed in the Class 3A-4A East region at Old Mill, where the Bobcats won their semifinal over South River, 38-30, but lost to Old Mill, 36-32, in the final.
Patterson Mill and Harford Tech competed in 1A-2A East at North Caroline. The Huskies beat the Cobras, 43-33, in an all-Harford semifinal, but lost to North Caroline, 58-15, in the final.
In that final, Patterson Mill managed just three wins against the tough North Caroline squad.
Mike Mass and Joe King recorded pins for the Huskies in the loss, while Colin McDonald won a 7-0 decision at 120.
The Huskies beat Tech, 43-33, in the semifinals, as Jake Nikkila won 6-4 over Jonathan Lechert at 132 to get Patterson Mill rolling.
Gavin Adams added a pin at 138, but Tech reeled off the next five wins. Hunter Yoakum won 12-10 in overtime over Alex Bosley at 145, setting up four straight Tech pins. Posting falls were Andrey Kalwa, 152; Andrew Butler, 160; Josh Hucke, 170; and Bowen Revels, 182.
Patterson Mill answered with two pins; Joe King at 195 and David Single at 220. Tech got another pin at 285 with Caleb Warner, but Patterson Mill won the final four bouts, three by pin, to seal the win. Pinners were Mass, 106; Paul DiFonzo, 113; and McDonald, 113. Brent Iwanowski added an 12-4 major decision at 126 over Andy Schwarz.
Bobcats battle
In Bel Air's split, Cody Seibel, 106; David Reagan, 113; Dalton Foster, 126; and Cameron Watts, 152, were each 2-0. Dakota Crawford finished 1-0 at 285.
Cougars sweep tri-meet
Fallston won both ends of a double dual-meet at home, beating Rising Sun, 55-15, and Elkton, 63-15.
Winning twice for the Cougars were Josh Ford, 106; Devin Hyman, 113; Eric Baranoski, 126-132; Logan Ziervogel, 138; Zack Kauffman, 145; Isaac Gallagher, 182; and Gabe Wagner, 195.
Mustangs beat Panthers
C. Milton Wright fell behind early at Perryville, but four wins by forfeit eventually led to an Mustangs win, 43-33.
