Bel Air women's lacrosse league sees first tie

The Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League offered up another new result Tuesday night, when the league, which plays at Rockfield Park's Ewing Street Field, saw its first tie of the season.

The Dark Knights (2-2-1) led 'Murica (1-3-1) 6-2 at the half, but 'Murica rolled back with a strong second half to force a 10-10 tie.

Dark Knights' Melissa Warczynski led both teams with six goals and one assist, while Montaiju Galmore added a pair of goals. Brooke Prater (one assist) and Aloise Diedrich also scored for the Dark Knights.

Julie Doyle scored three goals to pace 'Murica, while Kim Eraso and Chelsea Wathne added two goals each. Kaylee Litke had a goal and assist, while Jessica Tenly and Marisa Braungart also had goals.

In the Dark Knights goal, Roxanne Diedrich and Abby McClure both saw time and both made three saves. 'Murica also played two goalies - Brittany MacKnew made two saves and Emily Deaver made four.

Recyclables roll on

Recyclables (4-1) continued to dominate the opposition with an easy 12-5 win over Little Miss Moonshine (2-3) in the nightcap.

Sara Chesla led the winners with three goals and two assists, while Maddi Cypher had three goals and Paige Orpin scored two goals. Kristen Arseneau contributed a goal and assist and single goals were also tallied by Cynthia Darvin, Alexis Susa and Riliegh Cypher.

Moonshine goals were scored by Sara Pippen, Emily Livezy, Kathleen Plumb, Sydney Tudor and Sara Bracey.

Both goalies, Grace Deckert for Recyclables and Kaitlyn Neumeister, made eight saves for their respective teams.
