A woman was injured after an intruder discharged a firearm inisde her Edgewood home early Saturday morning, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.

At 4:22 a.m., deputies were called to the 1000 block of Crimson Tree Court for a report of a shooting and found a 35-year-old female who had been injured, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.


The woman told deputies she heard someone enter her home and come into the room, where they discharged a firearm, injuring her, according to the release.

As of Saturday afternoon, investigators had not determined the exact cause of the victim's injuries,  Sheriff's Office spokesperson Cristie Kahler said.

Kahler did say, however, that a shot was fired by one of two intruders who had entered the home.

The victim was transported to a local trauma center for treatment of a serious injury that did not appear to be life-threatening, according Kahler.

Three children who were also inside the home were not injured.

Two males were seen fleeing the residence, according to the release. One is described as a tall, light-skinned Afircan-American who was wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt. The other is also African-American and was wearing all dark clothing.

The investigation of the incident is continuing, Kahler said.
