A Baldwin man died in a head-on collision Friday evening on Route 23 in White Hall.
The accident happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 4300 block of Norrisville Road (Route 23), according to Maryland State Police from the Bel Air Barrack.
Brian Washburn of Monkton was driving a 2002 Toyota Tundra north on Norrisville Road and fell asleep, according to state police. The Tundra crossed the double yellow line and hit head-on a 1995 Infiniti J30, driven by Melvin Carlson of Baldwin; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Senior Trooper Amoroso of the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack is investigating the crash.
Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company reported on its Facebook page that Route 23 between Troyer and Old York Roads would be closed for an extended period.
