Despite early rain and a threat for more Thursday, the tennis match between Bel Air and C. Milton Wright went on as scheduled with one change. The match was played at Bel Air, instead of CMW.
The Bobcats, anchored by a sweep of boys and girls doubles, won the UCBAC Chesapeake Division match, 7-4.
The first boys doubles team of Matt Rannie and Douglas Naumann won, 6-0, 6-2, over Zaipo Oula and Brian Buckholz, while Jacob Rannie and Johnallen McKinney won, 6-3, 6-4, over Bernie Chang and Carson Franklin in second boys doubles.
In first girls doubles, Karly Menchen and Yasmine Saikalis were winners, 6-4, 6-4, over Cara Blanton and Chloe Jew. Mariah Thomas and Skyler Soriano also won in girls second doubles, beating Sophie Keele and Rachel Pelligrino, 4-6, 6-1 (10-8 tiebreaker).
The Bobcats also won two of three boys singles matches and one girls singles match. Michael Quang won 6-0, 6-1 in first boys singles and Jay Zorzi beat Nathan Glass, 7-6, 6-1 in third boys singles.
Paige Naumann won the first girls singles match for Bel Air, beating Natalie White, 6-0, 6-2.
CMW took the other two girls matches. Caroline Marderness beat Victoria Duran, 6-4, 6-4, at second singles and at third singles, Madison Glass was a winner over Marissa Pasquinelli, 6-4, 6-2.
The Mustangs boys singles win came at second singles with Ethan Brown beating Connor Small, 6-4, 3-6 (10-6).
The Mustangs also won the mixed doubles match. Sarah Davis and Matt Smith beat Charmi Patel and Elijah Olsen, 6-4, 2-6 (10-7).
