A woman was taken to the hospital after falling 20 feet from the King and Queen Seat at Rocks State Park on Wednesday afternoon, Harford County rescue officials reported.
The 25-year-old woman was rock climbing with a partner and descending from the rock formation at about 4:30 p.m., Jarrettsville Fire Company chief Rudy Walter said.
"She was trying to get some additional gear and then, unfortunately, slipped," Walter said. "She went down on the rope about 20 feet."
He added that her partner realized what happened, but the victim "kind of swung back into the rock face."
She remained conscious and climbed back up herself to the top of the seat, which is where rescue officials found her, Walter said.
She was taken in stable condition to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, he said.
Climbers and visitors are occasionally injured in falls from the popular park spot.
Last year, a 12-year-old girl was hospitalized after falling an estimated 40 to 50 feet from the King and Queen Seat.
