A young lacrosse player was flown to Shock Trauma during a Thursday night game at Harford Technical High School, Harford County Public Schools and local medical officials reported.
The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company said a "juvenile female was transported by aviation" after she suffered a head injury during a sporting event at the high school, off of Thomas Run Road in Bel Air, at about 7:30 p.m. according to Rich Gardiner, spokesperson the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association.
Harford County Public Schools would only confirm that a "female athlete" from Harford Tech was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma during a lacrosse game, spokesperson Jillian Lader said Friday morning.
"We cannot provide details surrounding the student's medical evaluation or condition," Lader said.
Maryland State Police landed its helicopter at Oak Grove Baptist Church, near Prospect Mill Road and Route 22 to transport the student, Gardiner said.
