Havre de Grace upsets Perryville to lead Wednesday's softball winners

The Havre de Grace Warriors softball team posted its first UCBAC Chesapeake Division win Wednesday and the biggest win of the season.

The Warriors (1-5 league, 4-5 overall) stunned host Perryville with a six-run second inning rally that led to a 10-5 win.


Annelise Beer highlighted the win with a long, two-run home run and finished with three RBIs. Kateri Peters added two hits, including a two-run triple that was part of the second inning rally. Addie Richardson, Olivia DuBois and Hailey Emerson also had hits.

Kaitlyn Griffin had two hits and two RBIs to lead Perryville (2-3, 4-3), while Amber Keene also had two hits.


Beer pitched the complete-game victory, striking out three and allowing three earned runs on seven hits, a walk and a hit batter.

Emily Phillips took the loss, working six innings. She allowed all 10 runs (four earned) on five hits, four walks and three hit batters. She struck out four.

Hawks blank Mustangs

North Harford (3-3, 6-4) dealt visiting C. Milton Wright (4-2, 8-2) its second loss of the season Wednesday, shutting out the Mustangs, 6-0, in Chesapeake play.

Sarah Collins and Kristin Stiles each hit doubles to lead the Hawks win. Alexis Lyttle pitched the win, allowing just three hits, while the Hawks pounded out 12 hits. Morghan Fulton took the loss, with relief aid from Katie Murphy.

Eagles win

Aberdeen (4-4, 4-5) defeated host Patterson Mill (4-2, 4-3), 7-5, in Susquehanna Division play Wednesday.

Freshman Mackense Greico tossed a complete game, striking out 10. She also went 4-for-4 at the plate and scored two runs.


Olivia Phelps added a pair of hits, including a game-winning grand slam in the top of the seventh inning.

Taylor Smith and Raechel Bowman each had RBI doubles for Aberdeen and Demoni Moore added a triple.

Bobcats beat Tigers

Rayn Gibson struck out 12 and gave up one hit as the Bobcats (2-1, 6-1) rolled over hist Rising Sun, 12-1, in Chesapeake play. Gibson also hit two batters.

Sarah Fleischmann went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs and Amanda Criss was 3-for-3 with two singles, a double and two RBIs.

Gwen Markowski added a pair of doubles and Leah Lozzi had a single, double and two RBIs.


Cougars beat Cobras

Behind a couple two-RBI hits, Fallston (3-3, 4-7) defeated visiting Harford Tech (4-2, 4-4), 5-3, Wednesday in Susquehanna play.

Anna Wagner rapped a two-run home run and Lia Alexandrou added a two-run single to put Fallston in the win column.

Kim Cook took the loss, pitching six innings, allowing eight hits, five runs (three earned) and two walks. Cook struck out two.

Madison Forsythe and Emily Bowler each had two hits and an RBI for Tech. Trinitee Grant also had two hits. Tori Siler had the other Tech RBI.

Rams beat Mariners


Edgewood (4-3, 4-4) defeated visiting Joppatowne (0-5, 0-5), 18-6, in five innings Wednesday in Susquehanna play.

Alivia Warren earned the win and went 4-for-5 at the plate, including a stand-up triple, to lead the Rams.

Patriots lose

John Carroll was held to just three hits Wednesday and lost 10-1 to visiting Seton Keough.

The Patriots lone run came in their final at bat, on back-to-back doubles by Meghan Sheehan and Erica James.

Keough scored six times in its final at bat to break open a relatively close game.
