Bel Air's Rob Tisch masters Shamrock 5K in Baltimore

Rob Tisch of Bel Air surfed a green tide to victory Sunday, leading all masters-division runners in the Kelly St. Patrick's Day Shamrock 5K race in Baltimore.
The 41-year-old veteran triathlete finished 11th in a stream 4,271 mostly green-clad runners that flowed down Charles Street on the route of the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. He reached the finish line in 16:23, 38 seconds ahead of the masters runner-up.
Tisch was one four area runners in the top 25. Jesse Jaeger of Kingsville finished eighth in 15:53. Joe Brusewitz Abingdon was 18th in 17:09 and Adam Bosley of Bel Air, 22nd in 17:16.
About 350 from Harford County competed in the race. Age-group award winners among them were Colin Mosley of Bel Air, first in 11-15 in 20:06; Mary O'Toole of Fallston, second in 65-69 in 30:11; and Morgan Myers of Joppa, third in 16-19 in 24:15.
Joey Wiegner of Germantown led the men's field in 15:13. In the top 100 behind him were Harford runners Mike Frank, 19:01; James Burnett, 19:29; Brian Hairfield, 20:05; Bart Rein, 20:11; Scott Walton, 20:14; and Tim Ferrese, 20:25.
Megan DiGregorio of White Marsh led the women in 17:48. Top finishers among Harford women were Meghan Dryden, 20:18 (fourth in 20-29); Sarah Westervelt, 21:28; Courtney Waldhauser, 21:28; and Jennifer Bouffard, 21:36 (fourth in 40-44).
Harford Track Club wins 2
Runners of the Harford County Track Club won two relays in the USATF Club National Indoor Championships Saturday and Sunday in Landover.
Braeden Ferrell, Steven Ashman, Mike Neal and Bryce Ferrell teamed to win the age 15-18 boys' distance medley in 12:27 Saturday on the 200-meter Prince George's Sportplex track.
On Sunday, Mark Pickett replaced Ashman in the foursome for the 4x800 relay. The team won in 9:10.41 as Bryce Ferrell took the lead in the third 800. His twin brother, Braeden, held onto the lead for the victory.
Jessica Rogers of Bel Air placed ninth in the 13-14 girls 1500 meter run. She was timed in 5:21.57, the second fastest among 13-year-olds in the race.

Elizabeth Tauber of Bel Air ran a personal best in finishing second in the 5,000-meter run at the Coastal Carolina Invitational track meet March 9 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Towson University sophomore and John Carroll grad ran 17:58.51. Teammate Hannah McKenzie of Bel Air (C. Milton Wright) finished fourth in the same race in 18:27.72.
Mike Feinberg led the 45-49 age group in the Tim Kennard 10-Mile at Salisbury University Sunday. He ran 1:07:00 to win by 5 minutes and place 15th overall among 250.
Rob Bartholomew of Aberdeen finished first in his age group in the Brandywine Creek 12K in Wilmington, Del., March 9 in 1:02:25. Cathy Bartholomew finished in 1:23:59.
Zach Zander and Christine Trzcinski set the pace in the RASAC Susquehanna 5K in Susquehanna State Park Sunday. Zander led all 41 finishers in 18:49 with Edgar Narciso, 19:37, and Duane Christy, 19:51, closest in pursuit. Trzcinski was first among the women in 21:09. Anna Wasielewski was second in 22:18 and Gwyneth Lewis, third in 23:56.
Youth track and field
The Harford County Track Club will hold a meeting for parents of prospective members March 20 at 7 p.m. at the John Carroll School in Bel Air. The club is open to all boys and girls of middle school age. For information call 443-484-2150.
