The Maryland State Highway Administration will hold a public information meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14, on its plans to replace a bridge along Route 7 over one of the tributaries of Bynum Run in Abingdon.
The meeting and public open house will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company hall, 3306 Abingdon Road in Abingdon, according to an SHA announcement.
No formal presentation will be given and attendees can arrive at any time during meeting hours. SHA's Office of Structures will host the session.
The 100-year-old bridge is on Route 7 (Philadelphia Road) between Abingdon Road and Route 136 (Calvary Road).
SHA's announcement says it intends to close the bridge to all traffic in late June after Harford County Public Schools complete the 2014-15 school year.
Truck traffic will be detoured to I-95 using Routes 24 and 543, while normal vehicular traffic will be detoured to Route 40 using Abingdon Road and Route 543.
SHA project team members will be available at the meeting to address questions and concerns about the bridge replacement project and summer 2015 detours.
If Harford County public schools are closed or if the county's Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, SHA will hold the meeting at the same time and place on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
