Fifteen of 53 Harford public schools will have new principals for 2016-17

Fifteen of the 53 schools in the Harford County public school system will have new principals for the 2016-2017 school year, as the system recently underwent its annual shuffle of principals and assistant principals resulting from promotions and also to fill vacancies caused by retirements and resignations among in-school administrators.The changes include new principals at three middle schools and a dozen elementary schools. Each of the 10 high schools will have the same principal as in 2015-16.Three Aberdeen areas schools are among those with new principals, including Aberdeen Middle, where DeAnn D. Webb has been promoted from assistant principal. She succeeds Anthony Bess, who has been named principal of Fallston Middle School, according to a list of new principals provided by Jillian Lader, spokesperson for HCPS.At Fallston Middle, Bess succeeds longtime principal Joseph Mascari III, who retired.Aberdeen Middle also has three new assistant principals – Erin L. O'Hara, Jason L. Blankenship and Daniel J. Reimers succeed Webb and Clifford Coulter. Anna Standish remains the school's fourth AP, according to the HCPS directory of school administrators for the 2016-2017 school year.Two Aberdeen elementary schools, Hall's Cross Roads and George D. Lisby at Hillsdale, also have new principals.Christine A. Langrehr, the former principal of Forest Lakes Elementary School in Forest Hill, is the new principal at Lisby. A new assistant principal, Ayn C. Ford, joins her. Ford is succeeding former assistant principal Kristen M. Mang.Langreher's predecessor, Patricia S. Chenworth, is the new principal at Dublin Elementary School, where she is taking over from Celeste W. Klima, who retired, according to Lader.Christina M. Douglas, the former principal of Church Creek Elementary in Belcamp, is the new principal at Hall's Cross Roads. She takes over from two co-administrators, who are listed as Kelly Rietschel and Rebecca Reese in the 2015-2016 school year directory. Clifford R. Coulter is the new assistant principal at Hall's Cross Roads.Harley J. Main was promoted from assistant principal to principal at Church Creek, succeeding Douglas. Stacey L. McCord succeeds Main as Church Creek's assistant principal.James L. Johnson is the new principal at Havre de Grace Middle School, succeeding Chandra P. Krantz. Tracy W. Hill remains as one of two Havre de Grace Middle assistant principals. Sarah Q. Lumbard has succeeded Betty L. Mull as the second.Victoria L. Elliott is the new principal at Forest Lakes Elementary School moving from Norrisville Elementary, where she had been principal. Zachary Greenbaum remains as assistant principal at Forest Lakes.Elliott succeeds Langrehr, who was transferred to Lisby Elementary; Jennifer D. Drumgoole is leaving Edgewood Elementary to succeed Elliott at Norrisville.Randy T. Geyer is the new principal of the John Archer School in Bel Air. He was promoted from assistant principal to succeed Patricia Walling, who retired. Kimberly B. Marine is the new assistant principal. John Archer School serves students with disabilities.Prospect Mill Elementary School also has a new principal, Benjamin D. Richardson. The assistant principal, Marcia M. Fithian, remains.Richardson, who succeeds Gail I. Dunlap, was principal of William S. James Elementary School in Abingdon. Reese from Halls Cross Roads is the new principal at William S. James.Meredith A. Dunlap is the new principal at Ring Factory Elementary School in Bel Air South. The former assistant principal at Youth's Benefit Elementary School in Fallston succeeds H. Earl Gaskins at Ring Factory. Under Gaskins' leadership, Ring Factory earned the coveted National Blue Ribbon School distinction in 2012.Dunlap will have the same assistant principal, Karen L. Petr, who served under Gaskins.Cynthia L. Womack succeeds Drumgoole as principal of Edgewood Elementary School. Jeanna M. Gentile remains as assistant principal.Gaskins left Ring Factory to become the new principal of Joppatowne Elementary School, where he succeeds Cheryl Steeg, who has retired. Paul G. Single remains as assistant principal.Elementary schools that will retain their principals and assistant principals are Abingdon, Bakerfield, Bel Air, Churchville, Darlington – where Alberta Porter is the acting principal – Deerfield, Emmorton, Forest Hill, Fountain Green, Havre de Grace, Hickory, Homestead-Wakefield, Jarrettsville, Meadowvale, North Harford, Red Pump, Riverside and William Paca/Old Post Road.Rose M. Martino will remain the principal at Roye-Williams Elementary, but Kim Kron will be the new assistant principal, taking over from the former acting AP, Margaret &quot;Peg&quot; Goodson.Patricia Mason remains as the Magnolia Elementary principal, and the school has a new assistant principal, Latika Diggs, who replaces Stacy McCord.Middle schools that have the same principal and assistant principals include Bel Air, Edgewood, Magnolia, North Harford, Patterson Mill and Southampton.In addition to no changes in principals, most of the assistant principals will remain in place in the high schools.Exceptions to the latter include Albert Johnson III, who has moved from Aberdeen High School to Bel Air High School, where he will succeed Brent D. Ritz.Mark C. Truszkowski has moved from C. Milton Wright High School to succeed Johnson at AHS, and Macon L. Tucker Jr. will succeed Truszkowski at CMW.John W. Siemsen has been named assistant principal at Edgewood High School, after serving as an acting assistant principal last year.
