Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Port Deposit recently could be a very rich person.

A ticket sold at Landhope Farms, at the corner of Jacob Tome Memorial Highway and Firetower Road, was the winner of an $825,000 Multi-Match drawing Monday night, the Maryland Lottery announced.

The winning numbers were 2, 4, 16, 21, 27 and 34. Drawings are every Monday and Thursday.

"The winner is the third player to hit a Multi-Match jackpot this year and can choose between the annuity and an estimated $525,000 cash option," lottery spokesperson Erica Palmisano said in an email.

The winnings had not been claimed as of Wednesday afternoon, Palmisano said.

Amanda Boothe, manager of the Landhope Farms store, said a lot of customers have been asking who the winner is and if it may be someone local.

"We are absolutely thrilled. Everybody is hoping that it's a local and we are excited for the store and our community," she said.

Landhope Farms also has two stores in Kennett Square, Pa., and Boothe said one of those stores also had a big winner recently.

About Port Deposit, however, she said: "I have been here for nine years and this is definitely the biggest winner at our store."

"Everybody is really excited about it," she said.

The winner has 182 days, or six months, from the date of the drawing to claim the prize, Palmisano said.

The Multi-Match drawing starts at $500,000 and is the Lottery's in-state jackpot, she said. The Lottery also offers a subscription to the Multi-Match.

"We are just excited for someone to come in and claim it," Palmisano said.

Palmisano noted the Lottery also has two $1 million Mega Millions tickets that are set to expire Friday and July 13.

Usually winners wait a few days to claim their prize but "it's pretty rare for it to get this long," she said.
