Condolences, celebrations in Port Deposit

Last weekend, equestrians from all over the country participated in the Fair Hill International. The barns, fields, rings and trails were buzzing with activity while spectators enjoyed the dressage events, the jumpers and the steeplechase races.

Much sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mary McWilliams of Rising Sun, as she passed away on Oct. 7 after a long illness.

And condolences are sent to the family and friends of Naomi "Lee" Breslin of Rising Sun, as she passed away unexpectedly at Union Hospital in Elkton on Oct. 15.

Nancy Huss of Perryville enjoyed birthday wishes on Oct. 19.

Harford County friend Margaret Murray of Bel Air celebrated her birthday on Oct. 20 as did Janet Brown of Perryville and John Leeds of Port.

Best wishes for a happy birthday are extended to Dottie Bickel of Rising Sun as she celebrated on Oct. 22. And today (Oct. 24) is Sarah Warrington Colenda's birthday. All the best, Sarah!

Congratulations to Jennifer and Bruce Edwards of Perryville as they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on Oct. 23.

The Port Deposit VFW Post 8185 rescheduled its annual Fall Car Show for Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Dash plaques will be given to the first 70 cars registered. There will be food, raffles and music in addition to the classic cars on display. For information, directions or pre-registration call 410-642-2847. All proceeds benefit our veterans.

Kilby Cream, at 129 Stroehmaier Lane, Rising Sun, presents its "Haunted Corn Maze" today and Saturday.

Visit the Bainbridge Museum at 6 S. Main St. from 1 to 5 every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. And the Paw Paw Museum, at 98 N. Main St., will be open on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 1 to 5 p.m. as well.

And coming next month: Good Shepherd School, 800 Aiken Ave., Perryville, will hold its Annual Christmas Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 21 and on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. both evenings. Spaghetti suppers will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. both evenings. Look for kids games, vendors, Santa pictures, raffles, the basket wheel and more.
