Man hospitalized, three people displaced after fire in Port Deposit

Three people were displaced after a fire in a Port Deposit mobile home Sunday afternoon, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported.

One of the owners, Charles Clark, was taken to Harford Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation, according to a notice of investigation.

The fire was reported at 4:39 p.m. in the 100 block of Waibel Road, according to the notice.

An electrical problem with a window air-conditioning unit sparked a fire discovered by the owner in the rear bedroom of the 32 -by-50-foot mobile home, according to the notice.

The blaze caused $100,000 in damage and took 30 firefighters from Water Witch Fire Company about 10 minutes to control, according to the notice.

The house is owned by Charles and Kathryn Clark, and three adults were displaced. The Red Cross was assisting them.

The house had smoke alarms but it is not known if they were activated, according to the notice.
