Port residents gather in support Del. Rudolph

A large group of civic-minded locals met recently at the Carriage House on Port's South Main Street to lend their support for the re-election of Del. Dave Rudolph, our state delegate for District 34-B.

The members, the Men's Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 8185 gathered Saturday night in the post canteen to bid farewell to former post commander Terry Heaton and his wife, Kathy. VFW bartender Jane Sawyers had scheduled her monthly canteen party at the Port Deposit post for Sept. 27 and then learned that the Heatons were retiring and returning to their hometown in Illinois. So Jane turned her pot luck dinner/dance into a farewell party. Terry is an officer and Kathy leads the Ladies Auxiliary. Many VFW members and friends of the Heatons were on hand to say goodbye and to wish them well.
