Fireworks detonate in Fallston mailbox

Fireworks were set off in a Fallston mailbox Wednesday night, prompting an investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's bomb squad.

Five firefighters responded to the 3200 block of Canterbury Lane at 10:55 p.m. after a blast was reported from the mailbox, according to the Fire Marshal's report and the Harford County Sheriff's Office call for service.

No one was hurt in the blast, which caused about $20 worth of damage to the mailbox. It was discovered by a neighbor, according to the report.

The firefighters spent 20 minutes on the scene. The Sheriff's Office also assisted.
