Lynyrd Skynyrd show in Aberdeen canceled

Lynyrd Skynyrd will not be coming to Aberdeen after all.

Ripken Baseball announced abruptly that it had canceled the show, set for Friday evening at Ripken Stadium, featuring the rock band prominent in the 1970s.

"Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, we regret to inform you that the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on Friday, September 12th at Ripken Stadium has been canceled," the organization posted on its website.

"Refunds will be processed by Ripken Stadium. Please contact the stadium with any additional questions, 410-297-9292. Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience," the statement said.

Ripken Baseball management did not immediately respond to requests for comment Thursday.

According to the band's website, Lynyrd Skynyrd is still touring in other locations and is set to play in Pittsburgh on Saturday.
