No injuries reported from fire at Harford nursing home Monday night

A fire broke out on the second floor of Lorien Riverside Skilled Nursing facility in Belcamp Monday night, local emergency officials said.

No one was injured in the incident, called in shortly before 9:30 p.m., and no evacuations took place, Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association spokeswoman Rich Gardiner said.

The nursing home is located off of Riverside Parkway near Route 40, a few miles south of Aberdeen.

The electrical fire was originally called in as a second alarm fire as a precaution, Gardiner said via social media.

Fire, rescue and medical units from Abingdon, Aberdeen and Joppa-Magnolia volunteer fire companies mitigated the situation and were clearing out second-floor smoke within about an hour, Gardiner said.
