Youth's Benefit students recognized for community service [Letter]

A representative of the Youth's Benefit Elementary School PTA was given the opportunity to speak to the nearly 850 students at Youth's Benefit who completed the Patriot Program this year. As part of that speech, the PTA was pleased to acknowledge the many ways that the students of Youth's Benefit supported its own and other communities through service projects this year.

The students, through projects sponsored by the Student Government Association, collected: 25 barrels of shoes for Soles4Souls; 3,172 pounds of food for Kids Helping Kids; eight boxes of hats, gloves and scarves for The Salvation Army; 15 boxes of personal and household items for Anna's House; $2,963.23 Pennies for Patients and five large bags of items for Fallston Animal Rescue Mission.

In addition, the students of Youth's Benefit raised nearly $26,000 for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart.

The Youth's Benefit PTA would like to congratulate the students of Youth's Benefit and their families for the service and support they have provided this school year. The PTA continues to support efforts that engage students, their parents and teachers in service projects in their communities and the world around them.
