Shaun Demetrad Turner, 41, of the 1200 block of Joppa Farm Road, was charged July 31 with attempted second-degree rape, second-degree assault and indecent exposure.

The victim, who was with Turner, told the Sheriff's Office that early that morning, Turner exposed himself and tried to overthrow the victim and rape her, according to the statement of charges.

The victim resisted, however, and a witness who saw the assault called 911, causing Turner to run off, according to the statement.

The victim was taken to Franklin Square Hospital and was treated for a burn to her leg, an injury that was allegedly caused when her leg hit a log in a nearby fire pit while Turner was assaulting her, according to the statement and previous information from the Sheriff's Office.

Turner was ordered held on $100,000 bail on Aug. 1 and remained at the Harford County Detention Center as of Thursday.
