A Joppa man was shot in the leg early Monday morning in what he told Harford sheriff's deputies was a drive-by shooting.
Harford County sheriff's deputies were called around 1:25 a.m. to the 400 block of Trimble Road, where they found Jeremy P. Colgin, 22, with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
Deputies provided first aid to Colgin, who was taken to a local trauma center for treatment of what emergency medical responders said were non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a Facebook post, he was taken by emergency medical providers to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital in serious condition.
Patrol deputies searched the area, but could not find a shooter.
Colgin told police he thinks the shot may have come from a passing car.
Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone seeing suspicious activity in the area, is asked to call Harford County Sheriff's Office Detective Andrew Lane at 410-836-5431. All information will remain confidential.
