A Perryville woman has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of the Waffle House restaurant in Havre de Grace earlier this month, city police said.
Amanda Elizabeth Haines, 31, of the 200 block of Concord Drive, was charged Wednesday with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $1,000, according to online court records.
Haines allegedly entered Waffle House, on Pulaski Highway, at about 1:47 a.m. on May 2 with her hand in her sweatshirt pocket and saying, "Give me your money; I don't want to hurt you" to the clerk, Havre de Grace Police Department spokesperson Julie Morgan said.
The clerk gave the robber money from the register, Morgan said.
Haines has a seventh-grade education, has lived in Harford County her entire life and is a full-time caregiver for her father, who is seriously ill, public defender Marcus Jenkins told Harford County District Court Judge Victor Butanis at a bail review Wednesday.
Haines also has a pending case for theft, Assistant State's Attorney Salvatore Fili told Butanis.
Butanis set bail at $50,000. Haines was still being held at the Harford County Detention Center Wednesday evening.
