An Aberdeen man was arrested after a crash in Havre de Grace that sent two people to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore on Saturday, Havre de Grace police reported.
David Charles Stong, 43, of the 700 block of Carsins Run Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic offenses that day, police spokesman Jeff Gilpin said.
The crash occurred at 3:43 p.m. at Otsego Street and Route 40, where Stong, who was driving a construction vehicle, allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic signal and hit a car going through the intersection, Gilpin said.
The two occupants of the car were flown to the shock trauma center by a Maryland State Police medevac helicopter.
Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst said the occupants were a man and woman who were believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Their condition was not available as of Tuesday.
"As officers made contact with the driver of the construction vehicle, the odor of alcohol was detected," Gilpin said.
