A bicycle accident was reported Sunday morning on the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge, two days after bicyclists were first allowed to cross the span.
Cathryn Read Crosby, 47, fell from her bike at about 10:10 a.m. while riding westbound on the bridge, Sgt. Jonathan Green, of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, said.
She did not collide with a vehicle, he said. She suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to Harford Memorial Hospital, he said.
Traffic was held briefly for the incident, he said.
Bicyclists are allowed on the bridge from dawn to dusk on weekends, although they were urged to avoid riding from noon to 6 p.m. yesterday because of the Fourth of July 4 weekend, according to MDTA.
