The Harford County Department of Emergency Services will hold two public outreach forums on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23.
The Saturday forum will be held at the Harford County Public Library in Whiteford. The Sunday session will be held at the Harford County Public Library in Bel Air. Both begin at 2:00 p.m.
The focus of both forums is to provide the public with information regarding the duties and responsibilities of the Department of Emergency Services.
Topics which will be covered include, the Harford County 911 Center, Emergency Operations and Preparedness, Hazardous Materials Response and the functions of the Technical Rescue Team. The two sessions are planned to last approximately one hour.
The Department of Emergency Services is planning to host additional public outreach forums at other branches of Harford County Public Library after the first of the year.
"We look forward to holding these forums as a means of providing information and materials to the public, which we believe will help them gain greater understanding of the mission of the department and how we serve citizens throughout Harford County," Emergency Services Director Russell J. Strickland said in a statement.
The community outreach forums are free of charge and open to everyone.
